Its a weird time for the makers of modern muscle cars, as the big three makers of Chevrolet, Dodge and Ford could have their parent companies merged together if the rumors are correct. Fiat Chrysler Automobiles who own Dodge, could merge with Renault to create the third-largest carmaker, while the rumors continue with a possible merger between Ford and GM.

Most of the current information about the possible mergers are coming from stock market news, where big mergers decide if stock investors should offload or buy into the new homogenized stocks. On the muscle car fan side of things it’s more emotional, it’s a bit like hearing rumors that your favorite football team is joining forces with the one you hated the most for years. (friendly rivalry, but it still stings…)

Very strange times, but the inter car rivalry is the bottom of the list when big mergers are involved. Firstly, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles merging with Groupe Renault would bring together all Renaults vehicles which include stakes in Nissan, Daimler AG, the truck end of things and even rallying, Formula 1 and Formula E. The FCA hold Alfa Romeo, Abarth, Chrysler, Dodge, Fiat, Fiat Professional, Jeep, Lancia, Maserati, and Ram Trucks. This merger on the surface, doesn’t seem too bad as the European influence on the FCA has been there for years and has had a big influence on the current success of the Dodge Charger and Challenger variations.

Ford and GM as one big company seems a lot more weird. Ford hold the luxury brand Lincoln and bits of Aston Martin, while it seems they are phasing out their North American automobile models and just leaving the Mustang while concentrating on trucks and SUVs. GM on the other hand hold Chevrolet, Buick, GMC, Cadillac and Holden as muscle related brands. Since day 1, Ford and GM muscle/pony cars, mostly the Camaro and the Mustang, have had let’s say friendly rivalry.

If you want to read more about the intricacies of these possible mergers from a shares and companies perspective, then financial articles such as this one is the way to go. However, the ins and outs of market share and so on isn’t the focus here, but what it could possibly mean for future muscle cars.

As shown by Ford, limiting its vehicle inventory to only the Mustang shows that pony and muscle cars are ‘halo’ vehicles which drive sales to the rest of the line. It’s unlikely these are going to go away and it’s entirely possible some old names will come back, just like Buick possibly bringing out new models which they could round up with old school muscle car names of the past…well, at least hoping….

Dodge have been part of GM since 1928, so it feels that association has been there forever, along with not so obvious connections like with Mitsubishi since the 1970s. So, seemingly unrelated car companies have always had a hand together. What’s most important is that the latest range of muscle cars and hopefully future versions keep on coming, without the usual boardroom cutting of vehicle lines.

Modern muscle cars are always going to be a small slice of the whole Corporation pie. They have too much embedded and loved history to mess with the formula and it’s proven by the Mustang outselling many other performance vehicles in Europe as they are available in native hand drive, meaning the sector has very positive interest moving forward.

It’s still going to be one weird state of affairs if Ford and GM do merge and it’s highly unlikely on opening the hood on a future Camaro there will be a Ford powerplant. So, muscle and pony cars of today will most likely stay and we can just watch as the rest of the story plays out….

A 1969 Dodge Challenger (not the one shown here, it’s just as an example) was recently stolen in Phoenix, USA, but after a Facebook post spread the message of the theft, the thieves were soon apprehended and the car returned.

The owner of the Dodge Charger called Phoenix police after it was stolen, along with a GMC pickup truck and trailer. The owner of the vehicle’s luckily had surveillance cameras which captured the event to assist police in the recovery of both vehicles.

Although there was surveillance footage the vehicles were still missing, so the owner posted on Facebook in a hope to spread the message. Luckily, a local to the area spotted the vehicle, later identified as 43-year-old Geoffrey Lawrence Shea. The car was then tracked to a local parking lot where police were informed.

According to ABC57 news police then arrested Shea and his wife for vehicle theft and drug possession, then being held without bond as they were already on release from other charges. The two vehicles are now in the process of being returned to their rightful owners.

This is a great indication of how the spread of social media messages can really benefit, especially when your beloved muscle car is taken.

The ideal field find of cars scenario would be be one with enough vehicles so you can spend all day hunting around, in great weather and always finding diamonds in the rough wherever you went. This is not too far from what Rocky Mountain relics have to offer in Fort Collins, Colorado.

Nearly all the vehicles here span from the 1920s to the 1960s and not exactly muscle cars per se, but there are so many vehicles here that could be brought back to life and turned into anything from a Rat Rod to a Hotrod classic, that it’s hard to ignore for any car enthusiast. Its like the ideal play ground for the likes of Vegas Hotrods .

The great thing about this treaure trove is its accompanying website which gives a great breakdown of the majority of the vehicles or at least gives you a substantial taster of the variety of vehicles and parts. There’s plenty of Chevys, GMC, Ford, Dodge, Plymouths, Buick, Chryler, Buick, Desoto, Pontiac, Hudson, Studbaker to name but a few. The website isn’t a complete list, but it will at least give you a taster of what’s available. Some of the vehicles listed on the website do have additional pictures, but it seems you’ll have to contact them directly for any individual prices.

We are lucky to live in a time where we can just jump on our computers and find out information about more or less anything to do with muscle cars. The problem however is finding those sweet spots online which seem to have all the information in one place. The websites below are a good addition and starting point to find any information you need to do with muscle cars which will complement our site.

General Motors stuff
GM started on September 16th, 1908 in Flint, Michigan and eventually rose to be one of the biggest automakers in the world. Like many carmakers they have had their ups and downs over the years, but there is no denying they made some the best muscle cars to ever burn rubber. If you check out the GM Heritage Center’s reference collection you will find over 250,000 documents relating to everything built by GM over years from the likes of Chevrolet to Oldsmobiles. For those interested in Buick vehicles, check out sloanlongway.org.

Old Car Manuals and Brochures
Old car manuals and brochures are getting harder to find, especially sites which holds them all in one place. This website set up by Hans Tore Tangerud – Love to Accelerate has hundreds of brochures from vintage muscle cars from all makers. You don’t just have a wide variety of muscle car information here, but also Canadian and European vehicles if that is to your liking. It’s a great start off point for doing your own research.

Mopar
Mopar is strictly the parts division for Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, but is more commonly termed to associate with any vehicle from the groups Dodge, Chrysler, Plymouth, Imperial, DeSoto or Dodge Trucks/Ram. Depending on what information you’re after, a good bounce off point is mymopar.com and allpar.com, which has loads of information, particularly about Dodge.
Hamtramck-historical.com contains loads of dealership books, advertising and everything inbetween which Mopar built in Hamtramck and Los Angeles. Check out the virtual library and vintage advertising page for simply loads of information.

Ford and Mustangs
If mustangs are your thing, then Mustangtek.com is a great start point for all types of vintage Ford muscle cars. You can find loads of Ford and Shelby publications here aswell as tech. books, service handbooks and past magazine articles which should keep any Ford fan ongoing for some time.

Historical car documents
If you regret throwing away any past car manuals, brochures or any other type of printed material, you may just find it here at the Automotive History Preservation Society. The website is dedicated to the collection of all printed automotive materials and has everything from press releases, brochures, magazine articles and everything in between. Everything is in high quality and can be downloaded. Its a great historical record, which is ever-growing, so keep your eye on this one.

Paint database
PaintRef.com has an extensive list of all automotive paints from 1922 to present day. That’s over 35,000 pages of information. There are also tons of car brochures which you cannot find anywhere else, giving you a glimpse into the design and sales techniques from back in the day. As an aside, vintage guitar lovers can find their favorite paint colors from back in the day here, as most used vintage car paints for their instruments, especially Fender.

Remember to also use our site search facility, under ‘search muscle cars’ to find the information you want. I hope the sites above can give you a good jumping off point for starting your own research into this wonderful world of muscle cars.

What happens when you take a pinch of Ford and a pinch of Chevrolet and mix them together? Basically, the results you see here. Initially inspired by Ken Block’s Gymkhana Mustang, this project build is as custom as you can get.

A mash up between a 1967 Mustang and a C5 Corvette with the Mustang body heavily chopped up and dropped on top of the Corvette. If you squint, it is very reminiscent of the Ken Block Mustang. Creativity is the name of the game here and in this realm anything should go, irrelevance of which brands should be mashed with another.

Check out the video below for the background on this build.

Although this 1968 Pontiac LeMans is currently just a shell of a ride, you can bet that the present owner has poured quite a bit of money into that engine and has now decided to pass on the button to somebody else.

The 402 engine, built as a 437As has a 671 supercharger with twin carburettors making 10:1 compression on pump gas. There is no sign or signal of this engine is running, and how well, but the basic block is there, it’s just minus everything else in the engine bay.

Essentially, this skeleton of a car is worth the $6000 asking price, if you consider all the work that’s gone into the engine and the potential of the car in general.

An article written at auto123.com states the case of ‘Do Muscle Cars Still Exist?’ which in some respects is quite puzzling, but I understand the train of thought.

The article gives a brief background into the conception of the muscle car and how pony cars such as the Ford Mustang and Chevrolet Camaro often gets lumped in with the same definition. Today rightfully, it would be almost impossible to recreate the amazing array of muscle cars that we had in the 60s and early 70s, but that is truly down to the golden period in time when so many manufacturers and models seem to coincide. Back then, we had AMC, Buick, Chevrolet, Dodge, Ford, GMC, Mercury, Oldsmobile, Plymouth, Pontiac and Shelby producing golden greats. As companies get swallowed up and integrated, so do their golden models, but not forgotten.

It’s true that the nearest to a purebred muscle car these days comes in the form of the Dodge Challenger, Ford Mustang and Chevrolet Camaro. The Dodge Charger in four-door form simply misses out due to its two extra doors, but even though the lineup is far fewer now than in the past, muscle cars are still alive and well and the vintage market is still amazingly strong even after 40+ years.

The big three muscle car makers are still producing some of the classics such as the Mustang Cobra Jet and Challenger Drag Pack, but per scarcity and limited numbers doesn’t mean that the muscle car breed itself is not as strong as it has ever been. We just have less makers.

New muscle cars are here to stay
We really have to thank Dodge for the introduction of the SRT hellcat and the Dodge Demon, which has definitely given the muscle car world a shot in the arm and brought back some of the horsepower wars and the excitement, stuffing as much power into what will be a regular roadgoing coupe. movie franchises such as the Fast and the Furious and the Transformers have also pushed muscle cars into the present day.

The Ford Mustang now available in right-hand drive now means that Europe and the like can experience a muscle/pony car on my own terms and from recent reports sales of the new Mustang was starting to outstrip domestic vehicles.

Adapt with the times
Like any range of vehicles that have been around for the length of time of muscle cars, they have to adapt to the latest automotive environment. All the big three now offer four-cylinder versions of their muscle cars, but the mighty V8 still stands tall along all their lineups.

It’s likely that we won’t see again the complete array of muscle car makers that we did from the 60s and 70s, but we will start to see old model names start to reappear just as we did with the Dodge Demon. The muscle car market will keep on thriving as long as people have a need for speed and raw engine power that can reach supercar levels in a production vehicle.

Long live the muscle car!

Barrett-Jackson has been around for a long time and accomplished many things including the introduction of televised collector car auctions as well as the sale of landmark cars such as the #1 Batmobile and the GM Futurliner.

For all of its achievements, there is one thing that has never happened at any Barrett-Jackson event. A collector vehicle has never been built on site and then sent “across the block” before the auction’s end. The truck you see here, called the “RideTech 48 Hour Build” will undergo a complete, detailed build at Barrett-Jackson, then endure the ultimate scrutiny as it sells No Reserve in front of millions of enthusiasts. It’s a “Put Up or Shut Up” proposition as the truck must cross the block under its own power and as promised.

A “Who’s Who” roster of prime speed parts manufacturers has teamed up to upgrade an old pickup with modern tricks that greatly improve performance and reliability. The reconstruction is taking place in front of an anticipated 400,000 enthusiasts on hand. The project starts with a mild, frame-off restored truck in great condition. The frame will be stripped down to accept a complete RideTech StreetGRIP lowered suspension system along with a heavy duty Currie 9” Ford rear axle and Baer four wheel disc brakes. Modern wiring from American Autowire will be connected to equally modern gauges from Classic Instruments along with a Kicker Bluetooth enabled KMC10 Media Center. A No Limit Engineering custom gas tank will feed a FiTech’s electronic fuel injection system. Speed parts icon MSD Ignition is bringing the spark with an HEI distributor and Super Conductor wires. The truck’s new owner and its engine will be kept cool with the help of air conditioning from Vintage Air and an aluminum radiator from C&R Racing.

As you can imagine, this is no casual build. With the number of parts being installed, the Build Team had better eat its Wheaties. At the same time, the limited time frame is a testament to the quality of available parts. Choosing and installing parts is now easier than ever before. The 48 Hour Truck will be finished off with HushMat insulation, Lokar pedals and cables, a Detroit Speed modern wiper system, and billet hood hinges from RingBrothers. Once the truck is all back together, EAWraps will transform it with a slick two-tone design. The cherry on top is a set of gorgeous, forged three-piece wheels from Forgeline wrapped in B.F Goodrich tires. Coupled with perfect stance from the RideTech StreetGRIP suspension kit, the wheels will absolutely set this truck apart from the crowd.

When it’s all said and done, one lucky bidder will be the new owner. As the 48 Hour GMC Pickup is selling at No Reserve, anything can happen. Like a scene from the floor of the New York Stock Exchange, there could be a bidding frenzy. Alternatively, someone might go home quietly with the deal of the century. It might even be you. This is a real live auction, so if you want to buy this truck, you must register with Barrett-Jackson’s bidder department. Alternatively, you can watch the build and the sale at Westworld in Scottsdale. The truck is selling Sunday, January 22 at approximately 4PM.

First let’s review what is so special about this picture. If you are an American you should love your country and cherish your flag. I certainly do and when you park a beautiful car under the flag, I am in deep love.

I have a Mopar and it’s a 69 Road Runner. It is a great old school car that drives and behaves like a ’69 Mopar did. But, I always and I mean always wanted a GTX or a Dodge Coronet with a 440 and a 727 transmission. I drove one when I was a young guy and was hooked. I love the long hood, big fenders, huge trunk, and most of all that very hot 440 engine. So, why don’t I have one?

Well, I am a idiot of course because my first love was a Mustang. So, I bought that. My second love was and is an old Chevy Truck called the AD. Advanced Design is what they were named for the ’49 to ’53 Chevrolet and GMC trucks. I got that bug as a kid and never could shake it. So, when the opportunity arose I acquired a 49 Chevy Truck.
Okay, still room for more so I came across a deal on a ’69 Road Runner. The RR was my high school must have car because the jocks and such had them and they were fast and cool. But, in high school I was a lowly poor boy working part time gigs to survive. Hence, no RR then but I managed to find the car I could not afford then but could now, so I bought it. Still no GTX however.

Then, I bought a 1928 Ford Model A. Why? Well, my Dad had one out of high school and he loved that black car with the red wheels. He spoke lovingly about that car and I always hoped I could buy one and give it to him as a present. He passed away before I could do so but I bought one that is black with red wheels in his honor. It is in the final stages of restoration and I will proudly drive it this summer in his honor. Still, no GTX.

I was ready for one more car for my collection and I studied tons of cars. I looked at rat rods, hot rods, jalopy’s, and everything in between. I looked at a Dodge Daytona and at a Superbird but both were way out of my reach. So, I had a Mopar, one Mustang, an old 49 Truck, and a Model A. Now what? I need the GTX badly but I also at this time need some creature comforts. So, after much soul searching I bought a 2013 Shelby Cobra. A supercharged 5.8 liter engine that is scary fast. And I mean scary fast. So, in my collection I have cars and trucks I always wanted but no GTX. So, what’s a grown man to do?

I think I am at some point going to sacrifice my 2005 Mustang GT and some cash to buy the GTX or the Coronet. It must have the 440 or the 426 hemi and it must have the 727 transmission. Once I get this accomplished I am going to stop collecting for a while and just start driving them. I am looking for a building that I can convert into a car storage facility for my cars during the winter as well. I want them all under one roof and secure. I tend to take things in steps but now I am a bit angry with myself that the one car I always loved is not in my collection. I will get there in time but I will find an original one that has been refreshed and at some point make it mine. As you noticed I have the big three car companies covered pretty well and that was always my plan.

The moral here is to keep your eye on the goal, no matter how long it takes. It’s possible, it just takes a bit of time.

A new index shows how much of US cars were designed, developed and assembled by American work.

The Kogod 2016 Made in America Auto Index developed by Frank DuBois, an associate professor at the Kogod School of Business at American University gives consumes information into how much of their chosen vehicles are American-made.

Since the American Automotive Labeling Act, it has been a requirement frauds makers to provide information about the amount of domestic parts and the cars and the countries of origin.
The information in the index provides additional information and even shows where the profits from each vehicle sale ultimately land.
This isn’t just to provide patriotically buyers information, but gives a great insight into the current state of how cars are built.

The index shows that three GM vehicles came in first place with the Buick Enclave, Chevrolet Traverse and GMC Acadia, all being 90% domestically produced.

Check out the index yourself to see how much of your vehicle is US produced.

If you have always wanted a Hot Rod like the one here, you may need to make several decisions that could be unpopular.
For example, you build a ’34 Ford then drop in a newish Chevy 350 engine. Why would anyone do that? Easy. It’s simple and there are a lot of 350’s around.

Okay, call me a purist but I am one of this those guys that want to see a Ford engine In a Ford and Chevy engine in a Chevy. I have noticed at least in my life when I take the so called easy route on something it bites me somewhere else. Hence, if I were to throw a ton of money down on a ’32 Ford Model B by golly that sucker would have a Ford power plant.

I mentioned to all you readers I have long considered dumping hard earned money to build a hot rod. I had my chance last fall. I found a 31 Ford Model A that was black and had the original little four cylinder engine. The guy wanted $8500 but I talked him down to the $5000 price point.
However, I have a Model A right now being restored so I would have had to buy this one for 5k and then sit on it for a year. Then, when the first one was done I would commission the second one to be hot rodded out to a 31 with possibly a 351 M or 351 W engine. But that meant sitting and waiting for a year while the first was being done and then starting all over again only this time building a completely different car. I had a ton of reservations about this so I reluctantly passed on the deal. Now, the first model A is still being done and all the wiring was just torn out of it so the car can be completely rewired. It will be done professionally and correctly. We found the car running but some of the wires were original, brittle and some in awful shape. Some of the wires were literally tied together. Period.

So, with the second car on hold forever it got me thinking about the amount of people who do these engine swaps and the reasons why. I don’t get it and I don’t like it. Just like I don’t like when someone buys a Chevy or GMC AD truck (47 -53) and the first thing they want to do is swap it to a S10 or Mustang II frame. Why? It’s easy and gives them the opportunity to add disc brakes, power steering and a list of options not available with the original frames.

With my Model A except for a very few items the car is totally original and a daily driver. It should be done within the next 45-60 days. Then it will spend another 30 days or so being shaken out on the road before it is delivered to me.
So, you learned a bit about me today. I like original and love real patina. Not the fake kind people make today. Add in the comment section what you like and why. Nobody’s wrong or right. It’s just opinions and I would love to read and reply to as many as possible.
Thank you in advance.

This comparison isn’t necessarily for top speed stakes, supercars usually win in that department, but these more a nod to all American beasts from the 90s that could definitely hold their own against their supercar comparisons.
In essence, this is about getting the most bang for your buck without having to pay supercar prices.

GMC Syclone
GMC-Syclone-678768

With its 4.3 L LB4 turbo V6 engine, the GMC Syclone was probably the fastest production pickup truck at the time.
Car and driver magazine tested the pickup against a Ferrari 348. 1-0 to the Syclone.
With a 0-60 mph time of 5.3 seconds and a quarter-mile time of 14.1 seconds at 93 mph, you have functionality and performance in literally truckloads.

Chevrolet Corvette ZR-1
GMC-Syclone-678768546

The 1990-1995 (C4) Chevrolet Corvette ZR-1 received the LT5, 350cu V8 engine collaboratively built with the newly acquired Lotus company.
With additions like four overhead camshafts, 32 valves, wider power band, gave was parable in performance to its contemporary supercars – 0-60 mph in 4.4 seconds, and 180+ mph.

Pontiac Firebird Trans Am WS6
GMC-Syclone-678768456

The Pontiac Firebird Trans Am has always been a moniker of performance, so the 1998-2002 Trans Am had to come out with something good.
The 346cu./5.7L LS1 V8 made 325HP with limited edition had features like the twin dark blue stripes and 17 inch alloy a mold wheels.
This era of Firebird Trans Am came in a few different variations, but the WS6 was the top of the stack.

Each decade of vehicle is never a clear-cut story, with the common consensus being that muscle cars had no contenders in the 90s.
Dig deep enough and like above, there aha always standout examples from each decade.

Not long ago we were tooling down a highway and came upon this. It is a Ford pick up truck with a trailer and on the trailer appears to be a 54 GMC barn find. We slowed down as long as possible to look at the old classic and then passed the truck noticing the two guys in the cab of the Ford smiling and laughing.

That scene made my day complete. Somehow knowing these two gear heads found this old classic truck, rented a trailer and drove a good distance to get it on board and head home made me smile. I knew as well as they did that they had many more days, weeks, months ahead of them to get the new found classic on the road.

It will take lots of money, busted knuckles, time tracking parts, and much more. But, these two guys saved another one from the crusher and for that – thumbs up. I wish I would have stumbled into them in a rest area so I could ask the obvious questions but I didn’t. So we have to use our imagination on what the plan was.
Resto Mod it, hot rod it, restore it, or use it for parts for a donor truck. Either way it was good and we all like to see something that may be pointed toward the trash being brought back to life. I find this kinship wonderful and always think it is cool we have this bond. At a car show you walk up to a total stranger and start talking the talk. I have many new friends that I met this way and for all intent and purposes would have never met them any other way. If we can save an old car or truck from the crusher we all should be happier for it.

When I was gainfully employed before my forced retirement I had a school bus account I worked with. One day they invited me over to watch them run a old bus through the crusher after the engine, trans, and seats were out of it. I took advantage of the offer and when that crusher grabbed that bumper and forced that big school bus into its claws we all stood as still as could be. It was amazing that this machine could swallow up an entire bus in mere minutes leaving nothing but scraps of metal behind to be recycled. Finally after years of this and prices of scrap metal at record lows they found a different way of ridding themselves of old school buses. Yes, they would drive and tow them to Mexico where they lived out there lives somewhere in South America. Today, the crusher is gone as it is no longer needed.

Let’s not ever use either of these tactics on our golden classics. Advertise what you have, drag them out of the garage or barn and I will bet you will have two guys and a trailer at your place pretty darn fast.

The American consumer satisfaction index has released figures for which vehicles Americans hate the most.

The figures are born out of the fact that there has been a lot of recalls over the last year from different manufacturers and more functionality on cars to potentially go wrong.

American car manufacturers recalled nearly 64,000,000 vehicles due to many different issues over the last 12 months, but it also concerns other factors such as price increases and ride handling.

A lot of the dissatisfaction has really come from the old adage of you trying to cram more functionality into a car and you simply have more to go wrong.
Does this mean that you should only buy an older vehicle? From a website that deals mostly in classic muscle cars, the answer would be yes, but for the car industry to keep moving forward, new cars have to be sold and they have to have more features ongoing to continually entice the public.
But where does that journey end? Do we eventually end up with cars that have so much functionality only the rich can afford them?
I don’t think that will ever happen, but there has to be a middle ground between added functionality to a new car and its ride experience and cost.
This is an ongoing process and if you look down the years at specific makes and models, they all have their up-and-down years and even two identical models can have different qualities through their own lifespan, which means when buying new, you have to potentially do as much research as you would do the buying a classic car.
The more you are informed, the better.

The-Golden-Age-Of-Muscle-Cars-Is-Here2

You only have to do a quick jog around some of the major news sites to read the same message ‘the new era of muscle cars is here.’

The cars currently being produced by Dodge, Ford and Chevrolet are letting the world know muscle cars are back and here to stay.
The major muscle car manufacturers are getting feedback that the public do want power and performance, not just economy and eco-friendliness. We always have wanted power and performance, we have just been pushed in the other direction.
You can argue until the sun goes down which manufacturers and models are the best, but it would also be great to see more of the classic era muscle cars being reproduced in some form or another.

Back in the day, we had great muscle car makes like AMC, Buick, Chevrolet, Chrysler, Dodge, Ford, GMC, Mercury, Oldsmobile, Plymouth, Pontiac and Shelby.
Obviously, some of these are not around any more, either closed or swallowed up by other divisions, but the Internet is inundated with renderings and body kits styled for the latest muscle cars to look like modern day equivalents of a golden era muscle car.
Some of the tastiest ones we have seen are Camaros made to look like Pontiac Trans Am’s, Barracudas and some great examples of modern Camaros being turned into modern day Plymouth Superbirds.

Give the public what they want.
There is definitely a market out there for the re-introduction of the old muscle car models, but it’s obviously down to the manufacturer’s priorities for when or if this would happen.

The-Golden-Age-Of-Muscle-Cars-Is-Here1

At this time, having reissues of all the classic muscle cars is just a far-off dream, but so it was only a few years ago American muscle cars were trying to find their feet again, hitting the right formula that would integrate the best of the old with the best of the new.

Is it possible that by 2020 we could have a new Dodge Daytona and Plymouth Barracuda?
Who knows, but there is one thing for sure, the highways would look far cooler!

What Is the Most Murican Car?

What Is the Most Murican Car

You probably already have an answer in your head.
Is it a Corvette? Is it Ford F-150? Is it a Mustang? The answer depends on the year, as it is ever-changing.
The index was compiled by Associate Professor Frank DuBois, an expert in global supply chain management, at American University’s Kogod School of Business, he used the criteria below to rank each car.

Profit Margin: Where the automaker’s global headquarters is located
Labor: Where the car is assembled
Research and Development
Inventory, Capital, and Other Expenses: Location of assembly
Engine and Transmission: Location of production
Body, Interior, Chassis, Electrical, and Other: Location of production
National Highway Traffic Safety Administration AALA “Domestic Content” Score.

The 2015 index says that with a total score of 87.5, there are six winners – the Buick Enclave, Cadillac CTS (Coupe), Chevrolet Corvette (auto), Chevrolet Traverse, GMC Acadia and the GMC Acadia Denali.

The real answer though is probably more subjective.
If I asked you, ‘what is the most French car?’ you may reply, ‘I didn’t think they built them’…… only joking…. The answer may be anything from a Citroen 2CV to some form of Renault, but obviously using the example of France, their automotive output has been huge over the years with many examples to choose from.

So, the real answer is what you think is correct and that will be the most Murican Car.

If you want the full rundown of the 2015 index, here’s the link – http://www.american.edu/kogod/autoindex/2015.cfm
